Zauroota 2026 (CML Annual Eparchial Gathering)

The annual Eparchial Gathering of the Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) of the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain, titled “Zauroota 2026,” was held at Mother of God Church, Leicester, bringing together hundreds of young missionaries from various parishes, missions, and proposed missions across the Eparchy. The gathering became a vibrant expression of faith and missionary commitment as children and young people united in prayer, fellowship, and faith formation.

The event was inaugurated by Bishop Mar Joseph Srampickal, who also celebrated the Holy Qurbana. The gathering featured a Faith Proclamation Rally, a formative session led by Rev. Fr. Nithin Elanjimattam, and an interactive dialogue with the Bishop, during which the young missionaries had the opportunity to discuss various aspects of faith and Christian life. Particularly noteworthy was the colourful rally in which participants carried the Mission League flag and proclaimed messages inspired by the values of love, sacrifice, service, and perseverance, offering a joyful public witness to their faith and missionary spirit. Rev. Fr. Sony Vadayaparambil, Chairman of the Mission League Commission, welcomed the gathering and expressed his appreciation to all who contributed to its success.

Among those present were Rev. Dr. Mathew Pinakkatt, Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Fanzwa Pathil, Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Hans Puthiakulangara, Rev. Fr. Christo Neriyamparambil, and Rev. Fr. Jerin Kattampally. The programmes concluded with the Mission League Anthem. The event was coordinated by Jojin Paul, Secretary of the Eparchial Cherupushpa Mission League Commission, together with Executive Committee members Rev. Sr. Karuna CMC, Jincy Paul, Tito Thomas, Saji Varghese, and Jibin Mathew. The wholehearted support and hospitality extended by the parishioners of Mother of God Church, Leicester, greatly contributed to the success of the gathering, which served as an inspiring occasion for nurturing missionary zeal among the younger generation of the Eparchy.
