The purpose of the Commission is to promote unity among Christians and to help the members of the eparchy to analyse political situations and social issues from the standpoint of Catholic faith. The major task of the Commission is to ensure that the absolute dignity of every person is respected and the resulting rights are safeguarded. Every human being has the right to active participation in the political,
economic and cultural life of the society. The commission makes sure that faith in Christ expressed through the exercise of unity, justice, peace, love, charity and through practical ways among the poor, the oppressed, the marginalized and the vulnerable. The commission helps the Syro-Malabar eparchy of Great Britain to collaborate with other Catholic and ecumenical organisations of UK in matters of justice and peace.
