Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain Inaugurated of Year of Spirituality

The third year of the five-year pastoral plan of the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain, Year of Spirituality, was inaugurated by His Excellency Mar Joseph Srampickal, the Bishop of the Eparchy, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Liverpool. The Year of Spirituality will be observed from December 1, 2024, to November 29, 2025. On this occasion, Bishop Srampickal issued a special circular outlining the key action plans to be implemented during the year.

In his address, Bishop Srampickal called on the faithful to give thanks to God for the rich spiritual heritage of the East Syrian tradition and to remain vigilant in preserving this unique spiritual legacy. The action plans for the year include:

  • Continuous Bible Reading, Daily Evening Prayers, Sacramental Grace, Spiritual Discipline, Education in Spirituality and Urha Family Quiz 2025. Following the success of previous years, a family quiz competition aimed at promoting family engagement and learning in spirituality.

The inauguration ceremony at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church witnessed inspiring speeches by Dr. Tom Olickalott, Pastoral Coordinator, and Fr. James Kozhimala, Vicar of the parish. This Year of Year of Spirituality seeks to enhance the faith and unity of the Syro-Malabar faithful in Great Britain while celebrating and nurturing their rich spiritual heritage.
