On Saturday, 20 June 2026, Mar George Valiyamattom, Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Thalassery, together with Mar Joseph Srampickal, celebrated the Holy Qurbana and inaugurated the Kudumbakoottayma Annual Gathering 2026 at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Birmingham.

Organized by the Kudumbakoottayma Commission, the gathering brought together more than 300 representatives from parishes, missions, and proposed missions across the twelve regions of the Eparchy. The programme began with Praise and Worship and Quta’a, followed by the Holy Qurbana by Mar George Valiyamattom, concelebrated by Mar Joseph Srampickal, Rev. Fr. Jibin Vamattathil, and other priests of the Eparchy.

Mr. Georgekutty Augusthy, former Pastoral Council Secretary of the Eparchy of Kanjirappally, was the main speaker. The gathering also featured a heart-to-heart interaction and discussion session with Bishop Mar Joseph Srampickal, providing participants with an opportunity to share their views and strengthen their commitment to family and community life within the Eparchy.
