Suvara 2025

The grand finals of Suvara 2025, organized by the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain, were held on Saturday at the Kirby Muxloe Village Hall, Leicester. Over a thousand participants competed in the online rounds of the Bible-based competition across four age categories. From the top scorers of each group, six finalists per category were selected for the in-person finals.

In the 14–17 age group, Evalyn Sebastian from St. Francis of Assisi Mission, Worcester (Birmingham Region), won first place. Maria Mijose from St. Mary’s Mission, Wigan (Preston Region), and Catherine Roshan from St. Augustine Proposed Mission, Basingstoke (Southampton Region) secured second and third places respectively. In the 11–13 category, Melvin Jeymon from Our Lady Queen of the Rosary Mission, Newcastle (Leeds Region) claimed first prize, followed by Josh Vadakkel Mijose and Benjamin John Biju.

Ancy John and Riya Shajumon served as quiz masters for the junior rounds. In the 8–10 category, Alan George (Canterbury Region) and Abel John Anoop (Bristol/Cardiff Region) initially tied for first place, with Alan emerging victorious after a tie-breaker round. Leon Joseph from Aberdeen took third place.

In the senior 18+ group, Tintu Joseph from Edinburgh (Scotland Region) won first place for the fourth consecutive time. Linsey John (London Region) and Meenu Thottunkal (Birmingham Region) earned second and third places, respectively. The senior competition was conducted by quiz master Bijoy Mathew.

The award ceremony was presided over by Mar Joseph Srampickal, who distributed prizes and gave his blessing to all participants and organizers. Also present were Chancellor Dr. Mathew Pinakkat, Bible Apostolate Chairman Fr. George Ettuparayil, and Dr. John Pulinthanath. PRO Jimmeachen George delivered the final note on behalf of the Bible Apostolate.
