Altar servers serve the Church at the liturgy and thus contribute to the whole community’ participation in a more fruitful worship of God. This commission aims to provide altar servers with a greater understanding of what they are doing so that they may serve with increasing reverence and prayerfulness. To serve at the altar is next to the priesthood the highest privilege which a human can enjoy. It has also brought about countless priestly vocations. Altar server represents the faithful and takes a most intimate part in the rich treasures of the church’s liturgy and ceremonial. The commission helps to unite servers of different Qurbana centres of the eparchy for their mutual support and encouragement.
